A vehicle caught fire after a lorry overturned on the M80 causing a traffic jam on Wednesday morning.
Emergency services were called to the motorway between Junctions 6 and 6A near the Shell garage around 8.30am close to Cumbernauld.
One northbound lane was closed as the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were on the scene.
The incident was cleared by 10am but traffic remained heavy on the approach.
