A woman who became known as the unofficial hugger of the 2014 Commonwealth Games has returned to welcome visitors for a second time.
Elizabeth has joined the army of volunteers working across the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, which will take place from Thursday, July 23 to Sunday, August 2 at four venues across the city.
A fan zone will also be set up at Kelvingrove Park.
STV NewsMore than 3,000 athletes from 74 nations and territories will compete across ten sports and six Para sports at the event.
The competitors arrived at Glasgow Airport on Monday as a bagpiper, highland dancers, and mascot Finnie welcomed them to the country.
Speaking to STV News about her latest experience, Elizabeth said: “It’s a bit different, but as the days go on, we’ll get into the swing of things, then I think we’ll just have a marvellous experience like 12 years ago.

“I would like to think I’ve added something to the games just by being cheery. Coming every morning, being cheery, and that’s it.”
