A third man has been charged with attempted murder after an incident involving a potential firearm in Glasgow.
Police shut down parts of Mansionhouse Road in the Shawlands area of the city for much of Sunday as part of an unknown and ongoing investigation.
It has now been revealed it related to an alleged murder bid on a man in Pollok on Sunday, August 13.
A 35-year-old man was discovered with serious injuries and was later taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.
Initial enquiries suggested that a possible firearm may have been used in the incident, but the man was not shot.
Two men, aged 34, were arrested and charged on Friday, August 25.
A third man, 40, has now also been charged in connection with the alleged crime – leading police to search the home in Shawlands as part of the investigation.
They are expected to appear in court on Monday.
Detective Inspector Phillip Kennedy said: “Three men – aged 34, 34 and 40 – have been arrested and charged in connection with the attempted murder of a man in Glasgow.
“The incident happened on Sunday, August 13, in the Ladymuir Crescent area of Pollok.
“All three are due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, August 28, and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
“Further enquiries into the attack remain ongoing and officers carried out a related search in the Mansionhouse Road and Langside Avenue area, on Sunday, August 27.
“At this time, I’d like to thank the public for their ongoing assistance.”
