Two youths charged over Celtic title party disorder as number of arrests hit 50

Two youths have been charged, and a man has been reported over disorder at the Celtic title party following their Premiership title win.

Two officers were seriously injured, and three members of the public needed hospital treatment after thousands of supporters descended on the Trongate area of Glasgow to celebrate Celtic’s win over Hearts on May 16.

Bottles and pyrotechnics were thrown at officers during what has been described as “horrific scenes”.

Officers investigating the disorder have charged two male youths, and a third man will be subject of a report to the procurator fiscal.

The total number of arrests relating to incidents on the day is now 50.

Investigations remain ongoing to identify those responsible for the criminality at Parkhead, as with those involved in disorder in Glasgow’s Trongate area following the game.
