Two young boys have been left “very shaken and distressed” after being robbed by a “loud” gang of teens in Irvine.

The victims, aged 11 and 13, were walking out of the town’s Rivergate Shopping Centre when they were confronted by a gang of six people, five males and one female.

They were robbed of personal items and cash after one of the males rifled through their pockets.

Police have issued descriptions of the main suspect as well as the five others in a bid to trace those responsible.

The incident occurred on Saturday around 7.25pm near the precinct at Bridgegate.
