A crash involving two cars has closed the A77 near Prestwick Airport with drivers being diverted away from the area.
Traffic Scotland confirmed the road at the Sandyford Toll and Dutch House Roundabouts was closed after 3pm heading north after a crash between two vehicles.
A number of diversions have been put in place, and drivers are being told to expect delays of around 15 minutes from the Whitletts Roundabout.
The road remained closed after 6pm on Thursday.
A Traffic Scotland post read: “The A77 is currently closed northbound between Dutch House Roundabout and Sandyford Toll Roundabout due to a road traffic incident.
“Motorists are advised to use an alternative route at this time and allow extra time for their journey.”
For diversions, motorists are being urged to leave the A77 at Sandyford Roundabout, taking the third exit onto the A719.
Then to continue on the A719 through to the junction of A76 at Crossroads Roundabout before taking the first exit and continuing on the A76 to Bellfield Interchange.
The A77 can then be re-joined by taking the third exit at the Bellfield interchange.
