Two teenagers have been charged after police confiscated two e-bikes and offensive weapons in Glasgow.

Officers were called to Cranhill Park in the city’s east end at around 4.30pm on Thursday, where two Surron electric bikes were seized.

The two men, both aged 19, were also found to be in possession of offensive weapons according to police and were subsequently arrested and charged.

Sergeant Cameron from the Local Problem-Solving Team at London Road Police Station said: “We remain committed to tackling the illegal use of e-bikes or e-scooters on public footpaths and roads, and any wider criminality, including anti-social behaviour.

“Where offences are identified, vehicles will be seized.

“We urge parents and carers to carefully consider the dangers before purchasing one.“
