Two teenagers are to stand trial charged with killing a man in an attack on a street in Glasgow.
Ethan O’Kane and Matteullah Siddiqi are accused of assaulting John McLardie, 68, on Victoria Road on April 28, 2023.
It is claimed the pair – both now aged 19 – pushed Mr McLardie on the body and struck him on the head.
This is said to have caused the man to fall to the ground.
The indictment states Mr McLardie hit his head on the pavement and that he sustained “blunt force trauma” from which he died.
The case called for a hearing at the High Court in Glasgow where lawyers for the teenagers pleaded not guilty on their behalf to the culpable homicide charge.
Lord Arthurson set a trial due to begin in December 2025.
O’Kane, of Glasgow’s Summerston, and Siddiqi, of the city’s Calton, remain on bail.
