Two teenagers have been charged after a man was left in hospital following an assault in Dumfries and Galloway.
Emergency services were called to the Dee Avenue area of Castle Douglas following reports that a 45-year-old was seriously injured.
The man was taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary for treatment.
Police confirmed that an 18-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman have been charged in connection with the incident.
They are due to appear at Dumfries Sheriff Court on Tuesday.
Detective inspector Scott Wilson said: “I am appealing for anyone with any information, CCTV footage or dash-cam footage which may assist our enquiries to contact police.
“There will be an increased police presence while we carry out our investigation and anyone with any concerns or information can contact these officers.”
