Two people have been taken to hospital after a home was engulfed by a fire in Paisley.
Emergency services were called to the town’s Ferguslie area at around 12.43am on Friday.
Four Scottish Fire and Rescue Service engines were sent to the scene between Main Road and Thomas Street.
Two casualties suffering from “slight smoke inhalation” were taken by ambulance to the Royal Alexandra Hospital.
Crews extinguished the blaze and the area was made safe by 4am.
Main Road in Ferguslie to Thomas Street remained closed due to the house fire as of 8.30am.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 12.43am on Friday, January 20, to reports of a dwelling fire in Paisley.
“Operations Control mobilised four appliances to the town’s Ferguslie area, where crews worked to extinguish the fire.
“Firefighters left the area at 4am after extinguishing the fire and working to make the area safe.
“Two casualties suffering from slight smoke inhalation were taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital by paramedics.”
