Two charged after man seriously injured following attack on train

The incident took place on a service between Coatbridge Sunnyside and Glasgow Queen Street at around 8pm on Tuesday.

Two people have been charged after a man was left with serious injuries following an attack onboard a train.

The incident took place on a service travelling between Coatbridge Sunnyside and Glasgow Queen Street at around 8pm on Tuesday.

Paramedics arrived and the victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

British Transport Police confirmed two men aged 20 and 21 have since been charged in connection with the incident.

They were due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Thursday.
