Two pensioners have died following a two-vehicle crash in Argyll. 

The collision occurred on the A85 at Dalmally around 2pm on Friday and involved a red Audi Q2 and a grey Ford Mondeo. 

Emergency services attended however the 69-year-old female driver of the Audi and her 70-year-old male passenger were both pronounced dead at the scene. 

The three male occupants of the Ford Mondeo were taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment following the crash. 

The road was closed for almost nine hours to allow for investigations to be carried out.

Sergeant Archie McGuire said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the two people who have died.

“Our enquiries are ongoing and I am appealing to anyone who was in the area and witnessed the crash to contact us.

“I would also appeal to anyone who was travelling in the area and may have dash cam footage which could assist to get in touch.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting incident 1923 of March 31.
