Two police officers are in hospital after a crash involving a police van and a Range Rover in Troon.

Officers responding to an emergency call in a marked police van were involved in the crash on Portland Street at its junction with Logan Drive and St Meddans Street around 7.50pm on Wednesday.

Two male officers were taken to hospital, while the driver of the Range Rover was uninjured.

Police say enquiries to establish the full circumstances are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.50pm on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, a marked police van, on route to an emergency call, was involved in a road crash with a Range Rover on Portland Street at its junction with Logan Drive and St Meddans Street, Troon.

“Two male officers were taken to hospital. The driver of the Range Rover was uninjured.

“Enquiries to establish the full circumstances are ongoing.”
