Two men are to appear in court after drugs worth more than £700,000 were seized at a property in Glasgow.

Officers from the serious and organised crime unit searched a property in Old Manse Road in Mount Vernon around 4.30pm on Friday, December 6.

Heroin, with a potential street value of £660,000, and cannabis valued at approximately £117,000 were seized.

Two men, aged 27 and 33, were arrested and charged in connection with the recovery.

They are due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, December 9.

Detective superintendent Sarah Taylor, from Police Scotland’s Organised Crime and Counter Terrorism Unit, said: “This is a significant seizure which sends a clear message that we won’t tolerate illegal drugs in our communities.

“It also underlines our commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country’s Serious Organised Crime Strategy, and we will continue to work with partner agencies to tackle this issue and make our communities safer.

“Information from the public is crucial to our work and we would continue to urge anyone with knowledge or concerns about drugs activity in their area to contact Police Scotland on 101.
