Two men were taken to hospital with stab wounds following an attack on a busy street in South Lanarkshire.
Officers were alerted after two men were found injured near Bridge Street, Cambuslang on Thursday just before midnight.
The attack happened a short time earlier on Mill Road.
Police said the two men, aged 21 and 48 years, were taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where they were treated for stab wounds.
The 21-year-old has since been released, however, the condition of the other man is unknown.
The force is urging anyone with information on the assault to come forward.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.57pm on Thursday, August 1, 2024, we were called to a report of two men found injured near to Bridge Street, Cambuslang, following a serious assault on Mill Road, Cambuslang a short time earlier.
“The two men aged 21 and 48 years were taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where they were treated for stab wounds. The 21-year-old man was released after treatment.
“Enquiries are continuing into this serious assault. Anyone with information should contact 101 quoting reference number 4540 of August 1, 2024.”
