Two men have been taken to hospital with “serious injuries” after being struck by a car in Paisley.
Emergency services were called to the scene of the crash on Hawkhead Road at around 8.10am on Wednesday.
Police confirmed that two men, aged 40 and 51, were taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with “serious injuries”.
The driver of the car was uninjured.
The road remains closed between accord Avenue and Portland Road as investigations are carried out.
Drivers have been advised to use alternative routes.
The force is urging anyone with information on the incident to come forward.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Around 8.10am on Wednesday, September 18, officers were called to Hawkhead Road in Paisley after two men were struck by a car.
“Emergency services attended and the two men, aged 40 and 51, were taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with serious injuries.
“The driver of the car was uninjured.
“The road is currently closed between Accord Avenue and Portland Road whilst enquiries are carried out.
“Anyone with any information who has not spoken to officers should contact police via 101, quoting incident number 0695 of Wednesday, September 18, 2024.”
