Detectives have launched a manhunt after two men forced their way into a Kilmarnock home and stole cash and jewellery.
The incident occurred at a property on Cromdale Road at around 7pm on Monday, January 1.
The two suspects entered the property before threatening the occupants inside in what police describe as a “terrifying ordeal.”
The men made off towards Campsie Road in a black SUV.
Police described the first man as white, 6ft tall, short dark hair, athletic build, wearing a black or dark coloured jacket over a dark coloured hoodie, dark bottoms who spoke with a local accent. They described the second man as white, 5ft 8, slim build, unkempt appearance, missing teeth, wearing a lighter coloured tracksuit top, dark bottoms who spoke with a local accent.
Detective Constable Fraser Murray said: “This was a terrifying ordeal for two people in their own home.
“Extensive enquiries are ongoing, including door to door and CCTV footage examination, and we are now appealing for the help of the public.
“If you may have witnessed anything, or have CCTV or dash-cam footage from the area, please contact us.”
