Two men have been charged in connection with a serious crash on the M8 that left seven people, including two police officers, in hospital.
A Mercedes A45 crashed into an unmarked police car and Mercedes CLS which were parked on the hard shoulder of eastbound carriageway around 1pm on July 24.
Two male police officers and two men from the Mercedes CLS were taken to hospital following the crash.
A 48-year-old police officer and a 43-year-old man, who were described as critical, remain in a stable condition in hospital.
A 38-year-old police officer and 31-year-old man were discharged following treatment.
Three men, aged 27, 33 and 39, who were travelling in the Mercedes A45 were also taken to hospital and released following treatment.
Police have now confirmed a 27-year-old man has been charged in connection with road traffic offences and is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on August 29.
A 33-year-old man has also been charged in connection with road traffic offences.
Chief Superintendent Hilary Sloan, head of road policing for Police Scotland, said: “My thoughts remain with our colleagues and members of the public who were injured in this incident. Our officers are being supported as they continue to recover from their injuries.
“I’d also like to thank the public for their support and information provided throughout our investigation.”
