Two men have been charged following the discovery of a stolen oil tanker in Lanarkshire.

Police were alerted to multiple thefts across the Douglas area that took place on May 8.

Following enquiries, officers executed a search warrant at addresses in Rigside Road, Douglas Water on May 23.

During the search a stolen oil tanker was recovered and a vehicle has been seized.

Police confirmed that two men, aged 40 and 71, have been charged in connection with the incidents.

The men are due to appear at Lanark Sheriff Court on June 19, 2024.
