Two men have been arrested as armed police were called to reports of a disturbance in South Lanarkshire.

The incident took place in the Mount Cameron Drive South area of East Kilbride at around 1.20pm on Sunday.

Police, including specialist firearms officers, attended the scene and two men, both aged 48, were arrested in connection with the incident.

There are no reported injuries.

A police presence will remain in the area while enquires continue and members of the public with any concerns can approach officers.
