Two men arrested after 'youth knocked out and repeatedly stabbed'

Police were called to Hope Street in Glasgow city centre after receiving reports of a disturbance on Sunday evening.

Two men have been arrested after a video circulating on social media appeared to show a youth being violently attacked in Glasgow.

Police Scotland confirmed it received a report of a disturbance on Hope Street, in the city centre, at around 8.55pm on Sunday night.

It comes after footage shared online appeared to show a person being chased, knocked out, kicked and repeatedly stabbed with an object.

A spokesperson for the force confirmed officers were aware of the video.

Two men, aged 33 and 23, have since been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

The 33-year-old man was due to appear at Glasgow Sherriff Court on Monday.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police received a report of a disturbance on Hope Street in Glasgow around 8.55pm on Sunday, October 16, 2022.

“A 33-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident and was due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, October 17.

“A 23-year-old man was also arrested and charged in connection with the incident and will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

“Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.”
