Two men have appeared in court charged with “racially aggravated” behaviour in Greenock.

Police were called to reports of a “disturbance” on Wednesday in the Main Street area around midnight.

Lee Millar, 25 and Anthony Holten, 28, were arrested and charged following the incident and appeared at Greenock Sheriff Court on Thursday.

The pair were charged with “racially aggravated harassment” under the Hate Crime and Public Order Act.

Both men pled not guilty to the charges and were granted bail with a trial fixed for December 30.
