Two people have been taken to hospital after a crash on the A70 in South Lanarkshire.
Emergency services are in attendance on the A70 on Lanark Road after the collision around 7.35am on Tuesday.
The Scottish Ambulance Service confirmed two patients were taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital following the crash.
Two ambulances, two paramedic response units, one special operations response team (SORT) and an air ambulance with a critical care team were sent to the scene.
The road remains closed in both directions at Ravenstruther, with members of the public asked to avoid the area.
A Police Scotland statement read: “The A70, Lanark Road, is closed in both directions at Ravenstruther due to a crash which was reported around 7.35am this morning, Tuesday, April 28.
“Emergency services are in attendance, and the public is asked to avoid the area.”
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 07.24 to attend an incident on the A70 Lanark Road at Ravenstruther.
“Two ambulances, two paramedic response units, one special operations response team (SORT) and an air ambulance with a critical care team were dispatched to the scene.
“Two patients were transported to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.”
