Two due in court after drugs and firearm seized in police operation

Two people have been charged after heroin, cocaine and cannabis worth £65,000 were seized by police.

Police carried out an operation in Bishopton in Renfrewshire on Thursday evening and recovered the drugs along with a six-figure sum of cash and a firearm.

A 57-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman were arrested and charged in connection with the recovery. 

They are both due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Monday, March 25, 2024.

Detective inspector Gordon Smith said: “This seizure highlights our continuing efforts to disrupt supply routes and protect those in our communities affected by the illicit drug trade.

“The operation underlines our commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country’s Serious Organised Crime Strategy.
