Tributes to woman with 'heart of gold' as body formally identified in Campbeltown

Tributes have been paid to a woman with a “heart of gold” who was found dead in Argyll and Bute.

Eilidh Bell was last seen around 1am on Friday in the Meadowburn Place area of Campbeltown after being reported missing.

The 25-year-old’s body was found in an area near Kilkerran Road on Monday evening, police said.

Formal identification has now taken place, and the family of Ms Bell has been made aware.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “The body of a woman found in an area near Kilkerran Road on Monday, August 31, has been formally identified as Eilidh Bell.

“The death is being treated as unexplained, but there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances at this time.

“Enquiries are ongoing and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”

Many have paid tribute to the 25-year-old on social media, describing her as having a “heart of gold” and being a “force of nature”.

One wrote: “If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever. The most beautiful girl with a heart of gold. Your beautiful smile and bubbly character, now the brightest star in the sky. Will miss you more than words could say.”

Another added: “A spirit of the earth and a force of nature forever in our hearts. Fly high,” while loved ones added: “Sleep tight, Eilidh, you were a beautiful soul and I cannot believe you are gone.”
