Tributes have been paid to a Glasgow man, described as a “true friend”, after he was murdered on Friday.
Thomas Bowers, from Glasgow, was pronounced dead after police were called to concerns for two injured men in the Springburn area.
The 33-year-old’s body was found on Auchinloch Street around 5.25am on Friday, April 14.
Officers have now confirmed they are treating the death as a murder with enquiries ongoing, led by officers from Police Scotland’s major investigation team.
Mr Bowers has been remembered in multiple tributes across social media following news of his death.
A friend said: “RIP Thomas Bowers a true friend to my family and good friend to me. Royston will never be the same, thinking of all TB’s family and friends, you will never be forgotten. Love you brother, God takes the best
While another wrote: “Good mate of mine, RIP Thomas. Sadly missed from the Gang in Dublin.”
Another said: “Rest easy TB x Royston won’t be the same without you.”
Another wrote: “Was taken to soon RIP Thomas Bowers GBNF. Fly high, thoughts are with his family and friends at this sad time.”
A 52-year-old man also suffered serious injuries in the same incident and was taken to hospital for treatment.
Police are also investigating a report of a white Vauxhall Astra car which was found in fire at Gadie Street around 6.10am on Friday, April 14.
The fire is being treated as wilful and enquiries are ongoing.
Officers say they are keeping an open mind as this progresses and are considering possible links between the two incidents.
