Trains have been cancelled after a lorry struck the level crossing barriers near Helensburgh.
Network Rail engineers have been called to Cardross after an HGV struck the barriers on Wednesday evening.
The operator said it would work with police to remove the vehicle before assessing the damage and carrying out repairs.
ScotRail said no trains are running through the area, with services between Helensburgh Central and Edinburgh terminating at Dumbarton Central and starting back from there.
Passengers travelling between Glasgow Queen Street and Fort William and Oban are also being told to expect delays.
