Trains between Edinburgh and Glasgow cancelled amid signalling issue

Some services will be terminated early as a result of the fault with Network Rail engineers currently working at the site.

Trains between Edinburgh and Glasgow have been disrupted due to a signalling.

Disruption is expected to last through rush hour until around 9.30am.

ScotRail have issued updated to commuters after the fault in the Edinburgh Park area with delays and alterations occurring as a result.

Engineers from Network Rail are currently at the scene with further updates expected later this morning.

Services between Edinburgh and Glasgow Queen Street via Falkirk High are likely to be cancelled or delayed.

ScotRail say the trains will aim to run half hourly departing from Edinburgh at 15 and 45 minutes past the hour and also departing Glasgow Queen Street at 15 and 45 minutes past the hour.

Some services between Helensburgh and Edinburgh via Bathgate will be terminated early.

Passengers are urged to stay up to date on the ScotRail app.

Network Rail said: “We are on site responding to a signal fault in the Edinburgh Park area. Our engineers are carrying out investigations just now, and once we have obtained more details from staff on site, we will provide a further update.”
