Train services to Dumfries and Galloway have been delayed after cows wandered onto the tracks.
Scotrail took to social media on Monday morning to announce that the 8.54am service from Carlisle to Dumfries came to a standstill due to “cows on the line”.
The operator confirmed that it was working with the local farmer to “moo-ve” the animals from the track.
A statement on X, formerly known as Twitter, read: “Our 8.54am Carlisle to Dumfries service has come to a stand due to cows on the line.
“We’re working with the local farmer to help moo-ve the cows off the railway.
“We’ll provide a further update as soon as we have more information.”
