Trailer of £90,000 worth of whisky and liqueurs stolen from town

Alcohol worth around £90,000 has been stolen in a trailer east of Glasgow over the weekend.

The trailer was parked within a secure premises on Shotts High Street on Sunday at around 2.50am when it was taken.

It contained high value whisky and liqueurs. Police Scotland has launched an appeal for information as officers investigate.

“We’re appealing to anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area around the time of the incident or with any information to get in touch,” detective constable Christine McLanachan said.

“I’d also ask anyone with private CCTV or dash-cam footage to check it in case it has captured anything that could assist our enquiries.”
