Toy slime with “dangerous” levels of toxic chemicals has been seized from a shop in West Dunbartonshire.
West Dunbartonshire Trading Standards found the items with no safety markings on sale at one shop.
More than three times the legal limit of the chemical Boron was found in the products.
The local council said the toys could cause health issues for children, including vomiting, skin irritation, and long-term health issues.
West Dunbartonshire’s “toy slime safety alert” urged parents to stop using the products immediately and warned they were not safe for kids under three.
Toy slime is a colourful substance with a thick, glue-like texture that has been popular among children in recent years.
Manufacturers often use boron to make the slime more elastic and sticky.
