Three vehicles have been set on fire in a “reckless” early evening spree in North Ayrshire on Wednesday.
Emergency services were called to Acacia Drive, in the Beith area, at around 6pm after three vehicles had been set alight.
Early enquiries indicate that a grey or silver car was seen in the street around the time of the incident.
Officers are appealing for any witnesses to make themselves known.
Detective inspector Ewan Bell said: “Extensive enquiries are underway to establish the full circumstances surrounding this reckless incident and we are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
“We would like to speak to anyone who noticed anything at all suspicious as well as people with private CCTV or dash-cam footage of the area from Wednesday evening.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2978 of Wednesday, February 21, 2024. Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
