A crash involving three cars injured two people and blocked two motorway lanes near Glasgow Airport.
Queues built up with traffic only able to pass single-file at eastbound near Junction 8 on the M8 on Friday morning around 11.20am.
Emergency services rushed to the scene where two people had suffered minor injuries.
A man who was driving one of the vehicles involved is being reported to the Procurator Fiscal in relation to road traffic offences.
There were delays of as long as one hour as a huge queue developed along the M8. Traffic approaching from the A737 was also affected as well as westbound motorway traffic.
The road remains more congested than normal following the collision.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police were called around 11.20am on Friday, 28 May, 2021, following the report of a three vehicle road crash on the M8 eastbound at junction 28.
“Emergency services attended and two people sustained minor injuries. The male driver of one of the vehicles will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal for road traffic offences.”
