Three men have been arrested after another man was left with serious injuries after an assault in Dumfries and Galloway.

Police were called to a property on Wallace Court in Castle Douglas around 11.30pm on Thursday, January 2.

A 38-year-old man was taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary for treatment to serious injuries.

Three men aged 29, 39, 49 have been arrested in connection and enquiries are ongoing.

Detective Inspector Scott Wilson said: “Our enquiries are ongoing and I am appealing for anyone with any information, who has not already spoken to police, to get in touch.

“I would also appeal to anyone with dash-cam or private CCTV footage which could assist to contact us.”
