Three suspects will stand trial accused of a murder bid on a man in an alleged shooting in Glasgow.
Liam McDonald, 35, Dylan Haldane, 36, and Scott Troy, 41, are claimed to have assaulted Mohammed Arif in Pollok on August 13, 2023.
The trio is said to have acted with others, with their faces partially masked, when they pursued Mr Arif.
Court papers claim they repeatedly struck him on the body with a machete as well as a knife.
It is further stated the men repeatedly discharged a firearm at his body, all to Mr Arif’s severe injury, permanent disfigurement, danger of life and attempted murder.
The charge claims that McDonald and Haldane had previously evinced malice and ill will towards Mr Arif.
It is further stated that a connection with serious organised crime aggravates the alleged offence.
Another charge claims that the trio removed their clothing during the commission of the alleged offence.
It is stated that they put the clothing and weapons used in a bin and then doused them with accelerant in an attempt to set fire to them.
Haldane is further alleged to have booked into the city’s Number 10 Hotel for the purpose of washing his body to remove evidence.
This charge was said to have been done in an attempt to defeat the ends of justice and was aggravated by a connection with serious organised crime.
The trio are accused of another charge of possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause Adnan Arif to believe that unlawful violence would be used against him.
McDonald and Haldane face a further charge of being concerned in the supply of cannabis between June and August 2023.
All three pled not guilty to the charges against them at a virtual hearing at the High Court in Glasgow.
The ten-day trial will be prosecuted by John McElroy KC, while Thomas Ross KC will represent McDonald.
Donald Findlay KC will appear for Haldane while Tony Lenehan KC will represent Troy.
A trial was set for October next year by Judge Lord Armstrong.
