Three men jailed after Scotland's largest cannabis farm worth £3.6m uncovered in Greenock

Three men have been jailed after the discovery of the largest cannabis farm in Scotland.

Officers raided a disused retail unit on West Stewart Street, Greenock and discovered a cannabis cultivation worth up to £3.6m on January 21, 2024.

A total of 6,000 plants in two large growing areas were found in the unit with each area fitted out with irrigation, industrial heating and lighting units for the plants.

Three men, aged 38, 33, and 26, were all arrested and charged in connection with the recovery.

Antonjo Selami, 38, was sentenced to three years and nine months in prison for being concerned in the production of a controlled drug at the High Court in Edinburgh on Wednesday.

Auriel Xhoka, 33, and Glendian Daci, 26, were previously sentenced to three years and nine months in prison for being concerned in the production of a controlled drug at the High Court on December 12, 2024.

Detective Inspector Gordon Smith said: “Uncovering a cultivation of this scale has a significant impact on the supply of cannabis onto Scotland’s streets.

“I hope that this sentencing sends a clear message to anyone involved in the production and supply of illegal drugs that we will use all resources at our disposal to track you down and ensure you face the consequences.
