Three men have appeared in court accused of shooting a man in an alleged murder bid.
Gary Rooney, 32, Darren Beaton, 55, and Stephen Preston, 20, are said to have assaulted a 52-year-old man at a shop in Glasgow’s Govan, on October 25, 2024.
Court papers state that the three accused while acting together, “repeatedly discharged a firearm” at the man’s body in Drumoyne Stores.
It is said to have been to his severe injury, danger of life and attempted murder.
A separate allegation said that the men set fire and caused significant damage to a Ford Fiesta near Edinbaret Nursing Home in Clydebank, West Dunbartonshire.
The charge says this was done to defeat the ends of justice.
The victim was taken to hospital at the time and his condition was described as stable.
The three accused made no plea at a private hearing at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
Rooney, of Clydebank, Preston, of Glasgow, and Beaton, also of Glasgow, were remanded in custody and committed for further examination by Sheriff Patrick Hughes.
They will appear in court again within the next eight days.
