Three men have been charged after £8 million of cocaine was seized during one of Scotland’s largest drug busts on Thursday.
The raid occurred at a premises on Melford Road in Bellshill, North Lanarkshire, and the Class A drug haul was recovered.
The men, aged 29, 46 and 65, have been charged in connection with the incident. The trio are due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday.
An investigation is still ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the “significant” recovery.
Detectives Superintendent Steven Elliot said: “This was a sizeable recovery – one of the most significant we’ve seen in Scotland.
