Three hooded robbers threaten woman with knife at flat Police Scotland

A woman has been threatened with a knife after a group of armed robbers barged into her Glasgow flat.

Three hooded men stormed the property on Dumbarton Road at around 5.25pm on Sunday.

They brandished and knife and threatened the 48-year-old resident before making off with a five-figure sum of money.

The woman was uninjured in the raid but was left very distressed.

Officers are now looking for the men responsible.

They have been carrying out door-to-door enquiries and will be checking any available CCTV footage.

Detective constable Ross Thomson said: “The men who carried out this crime are cowards, targeting a 48-year-old woman within her home in this way is despicable and it’s imperative we trace these men.

“I am appealing to anyone who was in the area and who was on the cycle path around the time of the incident for any information they may have.

“Perhaps you saw the men running up the cycle path?  Any small piece of information could prove important as we continue our investigation into this crime.”

Anyone with any information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 2942 of May 3.
