A three car collision has closed the A75 at rush hour with emergency services on the scene.

Traffic Scotland confirmed the major road at Annan is closed in both directions at around 6:50am on Tuesday morning.

Police Scotland and emergency services are said to be on the scene near Northfield.

Road users are advised to find alternative routes.

Traffic Scotland posted on X: “The A75 at Annan is CLOSED in both directions due to a three vehicle collision.

“Police are at the scene. Updates to follow.”

Police Scotland Dumfries and Galloway wrote on X: “The A75 at Annan is currently closed due to an ongoing incident, as is the diversion through Annan High Street.

“As such, anyone travelling east or westbound should go via Lockerbie, A709.”

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 6.16am to attend a two vehicle RTC on the A75 at Annan.

“Two ambulances were dispatched to the scene and one patient was treated and released at scene.”
