A third man has been arrested in connection with the death of a man in South Lanarkshire.

Emergency services were called to General’s Gate, near Old Glasgow Road, in Uddingston at around 7.35pm on October 6 following reports of an injured man.

Ambulance crews found David Graham, from Cambuslang, seriously injured, with members of the public trying to help him.

The 38-year-old was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow but was pronounced dead on arrival.

Following a post-mortem examination, police said they were treating Mr Graham’s death as murder.

A 28-year-old man is the third person to be arrested in connection with the death, it was confirmed on Wednesday.

It comes after a 41-year-old man was arrested in connection with the death on Friday, before being released pending further enquiries.

Another man, Liam Kippen, appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court charged with murder on October 10.

The 29-year-old from Motherwell made no plea and was remanded in custody pending a further court appearance.

Police Scotland said inquiries into Mr Graham’s death remain ongoing.
