A third person has been arrested in connection with the death of a man found injured outside his home in Kilwinning.

Emergency services were called to Pollock Crescent at around 1.55pm on October 18, after they received reports of an injured man.

John Taylor, from Kilwinning, was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators confirmed they were treating the death of the 44-year-old as murder.

Officers confirmed they had arrested a 53-year-old man in connection with the incident on October 25.

The force announced later on Friday that a 19-year-old man has also been arrested.

Kiey O’Connor appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Wednesday in connection with Mr Taylor’s death.

The 26-year-old was charged with murder and attempting to defeat the ends of justice.

O’Connor made no plea and was remanded in custody. He is due to reappear in court within the next eight days.

An investigation into the death is still ongoing.

Detectives have set up a website that gives members of the public access to a form to send information directly to the Major Investigation Team, which can be submitted anonymously.
