A Tesco worker has died from coronavirus amid an outbreak at a Glasgow store.
The supermarket chain said it is supporting the man’s colleagues at the Tesco Extra in Maryhill “at this difficult time”.
The firm also said “thoughts” are with his family.
A “small number” of workers at the branch have tested positive for the deadly virus.
A Tesco spokesperson said their close contacts have been informed.
They added: “The safety of our colleagues, customers and suppliers remains our number one priority and we are working with local public health authorities, following all Government guidance and taking the relevant precautions.
“We have extensive measures across all of our stores to help keep everyone safe, including protective screens at every checkout, social distancing signage and regular cleaning.”
