Ten-year-old and teenager injured in collision with car near park

A young child and a teenager have both been left injured after being struck by a car near a park in Glasgow.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Pollokshaws Road just after 3pm on Wednesday.

A ten-year-old girl and 19-year-old woman were taken to hospital following the incident that took place near to the entrance to Pollok Park.

Police were also in attendance and an investigation is now under way in a bid to establish the full circumstances.

An area at the junction of Pollokshaws Road and Haggs Road has been taped off as the investigations take place.

A spokesman for the force confirmed the incident.

He said: “At around 3.05pm on Wednesday police received a report of two people having been struck by a car in Pollokshaws Road, near to the Pollok Estate entrance, Glasgow.

“A ten-year-old girl and 19-year-old woman have been taken by ambulance to hospital.

“Enquiries into the circumstances of the incident are ongoing.”

The extent of their injuries is not known at this time.
