Police have launched a re-appeal for information as they look to trace two teenagers missing from West Lothian.

Omar Ali, 16, and Ahmed Elgendy, 17, were last seen around 3pm on Monday, December 9 in Kirknewton.

It is believed the boys are together and may have travelled to Edinburgh via public transport.

PC Murray Alexander said: "It has been almost two weeks since Omar and Ahmed were last seen and we remain concerned for their welfare and want to trace them as soon as possible to ensure they are safe and well.

"We believe they are together and may have travelled to the Edinburgh area.

"They have previously spent time in the Wester Hailes area in the west of the city and Edinburgh Central Mosque on Potterrow.

"They may be using the bus or public transport network and we would ask that anyone who has seen either boys, or them together, to contact police immediately."

Omar is around 5 ft 10 ins in height, of slim build and has short black hair, while Ahmed is around 5 ft 4ins, of slim build and has short black hair.

PC Alexander added: "If Omar or Ahmed see this appeal, we would ask that they contact police so that we know they are safe."
