A manhunt has been launched for two men who assaulted and robbed teenagers on a street in Glasgow.
At around 6.20pm on Friday, February 12, two teen boys, a 17-year-old and a 19-year-old, were walking along Glenshee Street, Tollcross, when they were approached by two men.
The men demanded the teenagers hand over their belongings, snatched a phone and made off.
The 19-year-old was punched during the attack which police branded “terrifying”.
Shortly after the ordeal the stolen phone was handed to a passer-by who returned it to the teen and police are treating the incident as an assault with intent to rob.
Police Scotland appealed for information describing the first suspect as white, bald, around 6ft, of average build, and in his late 30s. He was wearing a blue fleece, blue denims and a blue coloured body warmer.
The second suspect is described as white, under 6ft, in his late teens and was wearing black coloured clothing and a black face mask.
Detective Constable Mark Milroy, said: “Although nobody required medical treatment, this was a terrifying experience for the two men who were simply walking along the street. Nobody should be made to feel unsafe in their community.
“Shortly afterwards the phone that was taken was handed to a passer-by, who returned it to its owner. However, it does not matter than nothing was taken, this type of crime will not be tolerated and we will do everything we can to trace those responsible.
“There were a number of people in the area at the time, in particular a man who had a dog with him Think back, was this you? Can you assist us in our enquiries? Anyone with any information is urged to contact police.”
