Police ScotlandA teenager who died in an incident in a river in Dumfries on Thursday night had just celebrated his 18th birthday.
Emergency services were alerted to a person in the River Nith near the Kingholm Road area at around 6.50pm.
A search of the water was carried out, and Benjamin Glen’s body was recovered.
The teenager, from Dumfries, had just turned 18 last weekend.
Detectives are not treating the death as suspicious. A report is due to be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
