A 16-year-old boy was taken to hospital on Tuesday after being seriously assaulted on a street in Glasgow’s city centre.

At around 3pm on March 7, the incident occurred on Union Street, at the junction with Gordon Street near Central Station.

The teenager was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment and police are urging any witnesses to come forward.

Constable Craig Whyte, of Greater Glasgow CID, said: “Our enquiries into this incident are at an early stage and I am appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the assault to get in touch.

“As the incident happened close to a road we are also appealing for drivers with dashcams to review footage to establish if their cameras have captured the incident.

“Anyone with information that may assist our investigation should contact 101, quoting reference 2141 of March 7, 2023. Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
