Teen in 'serious condition' in hospital as three assaulted on street

Emergency services were called to Kirkintilloch Road, Bishopbriggs, after three teenagers were assaulted on Saturday evening.

An 18-year-old has been left in a “serious condition” in hospital after being assaulted alongside two other teenagers in Bishopbriggs.

Police were called to the incident on Kirkintilloch Road, near to Villafield Drive, at around 7.45pm on Saturday.

An 18-year-old remains in Glasgow Royal Infirmary in a serious but stable condition after being seriously assaulted.

A further two teenagers, aged 18 and 17, were assaulted and sustained minor injuries.

Officers are continuing to investigate the incident and have appealed for any witnesses to come forward.

Detective Constable Vikki Reid said: “Our enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances of this attack and we are appealing to anyone who may have been in this area at the time and may have witnessed this incident.

“Anyone who was walking or driving in the area around the time of the incident is asked to get in touch. In addition, we are also keen to speak to anyone with CCTV or dash-cam footage at the time.”
