A 17-year-old pedestrian was hit by a car while standing at a bus stop on Tuesday afternoon.

A teenager has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car at a bus stop in Coatbridge.

The 17-year-old boy was at the bus stop on Whifflet Street, heading towards the A725, around 5pm on Tuesday, June 4 when he was hit.

Emergency services attended the scene and the teenager was taken to hospital for treatment.

Police are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.

Police Constable Emma Gibney said: “Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and we are appealing for anyone who saw what happened to get in touch or anyone who may have dash cam footage capturing the incident.

“If you can help please contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2695 of Tuesday June 4, 2024, or make a call anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
